This year, 2005, I went down to the World show with my friend, Donna Evans, and my son, Joe. Mister had qualified, again, in many classes for the World show, but I chose to leave Mister home this year and take one of our mares, Dolly (Prince's Bonanza Bar) . Both Dolly and Jewel had qualified for the World show in the brood mare class, and heritage. I had had extra help from other family members , Taylor, Erin and Colin Rumpsa, in showing Dolly and Jewel this year, and they did well in the youth and open classes they were in. Unfortunately, none of them were able to go with us down to Texas. Hopefully next year!
We left early Thursday morning, picked up Donna in Lebanon, Missouri, stopped at the anticlines in Oklahoma, and drove around the Oklahoma City Murrah Building. We arrived in Fort Worth on Thursday night. We were there just in time to catch part of the World Appaloosa sale; this year it was definitely a buyers' market.
Donna, Joe, and I went shopping Friday afternoon for a hat, a pair of boots, and a shirt, and off to Billy Bob's we went. We and a great time and came back to get a good night's sleep.
Dolly and I made it to our brood mare class on Saturday with no time to spare, and Dolly was the only colored (and very colored, I might add!) mare in her class. She was also definitely a very pregnant mare out there!!! She came out of the class with a 6th place; yea!!!!
Prince's Bonanza Bar, Kim, and Joe with Dolly's 6th place ribbon.Joe decided to lean over so he didn't make Dolly and me look so short (thanks, Joe!)
As of 12-15-05, we finished up Mister's versatility award, ApHC Champion award, and Supreme Champion award.
He is up to 20 ROMs, 4 Superiors, 3 open medallions (one of which is in competitive trail riding),and 7 non pro medallions. Yea! .
