Lola Abeln went with me, again, this year. Thanks, Lola! We arrived in Texas, at Lance and Stephanie Lewis' on Friday night (almost Saturday morning. We relaxed after sleeping in on Saturday, then headed out to Fort Worth in the afternoon. We stalled with Dona Boatman and Gail Bieganowski. What a blast!
Sunday night I had a jumping class, and placed 11th out of 18. No ribbon, but Mister did fine!
Tuesday evening was our non pro driving class in which we placed 10th, receiving a ribbon. My greatest thanks goes out to the person who really made this class possible for me; Tanya Abegg. She lent me her cart, harness, dress, apron, and hat. Not much of anything that night I was wearing was mine! Thanks also to all who helped me make that evening a success, including Tanya Abegg, Lola Abeln, Dona Boatman, Todd Muennnink, David Atkins, Russel, Geneva, Jeff and Cindy Wilson of Wilson Leather, Lance Lewis, and Paul, Steph's dad!
Wednesday morning, bright and early, was when our jumping classes for which Jewel and Mister were registered. Green Hunter was truly the class we had all gone down to Fort Worth, Texas for, and the one I was most focused on.
Jewel, who is not my strong and confident jumper, usually, went in to the arena with ears up and ready to rumble! I really had to hold her back. She gave me the best performance she had ever given me, at that point. I was and am really very proud of her. You go, girl!
Mister didn't do as well as Jewel, but he still did fine! He was obviously a pooped puppy. Jewel ended up placing 7th, and Mister placed 8th in Green Hunter..
Steph Lewis, and her cousin, Cassie, from Colorado, showed up bright and early Wednesday morning to cheer us along, together with Lola, Dona Boatman, Carol Lawrence, and a few others. You don't know how it good it feels they are there until you know they are! Thank you to everyone!!!
Last year I almost passed up a similar picture to this posing one, but this year I wouldn't, knowing how priceless it would probably turn out; and it did!
These, of course, are our winning photos, group and alone. Regretfully, Dona Boatman and Gail Bieganowski couldn't be in our group photo because they were busy two classes after us.
Lola and I knew there would be a costume contest, so we planned well for it! Lola came up with hers, and I borrowed mine from Suzette Dunnigan and Mister's from Kimm Blair. The judging time ws changed while we were outside getting ready, so we missed it. Well, if you know Lola and/or me, I am sure you can guess what we did. We rode through the whole show grounds making people totally ignore us, or laugh! (More of the latter, I assure you!)
Thanks for visiting, and drop us an email if you would like. We'd love to hear from you!
